Many times, people have the wrong idea about what this site is about when they see the title, “Country Consultant”. You may think upon arriving that you have found a professional organization that charges an exuberant fee for consulting individuals on the lost art of country living and homesteading… but it’s quite the contrary…….. !
I am a student myself, working my way through the process of living a more self-sufficient and self-reliant lifestyle, trying to find my own path and searching for answers to the numerous questions that present to me on a daily basis. I created this site so that I can share what I’ve learned with my friends, old and new, and also as a place to LEARN from those same friends – because together we can move mountains! To quote the inspirational Vince Lombardi, “Individual commitment to a group effort — that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”
Much of my time these days is spent here on our small 13-acre pecan orchard, tending to the needs of my family, gardening, preserving food, tending to my growing menagerie of farm animals and pondering what life will be like for my children and their children… I am concerned about their future, and how our past mistakes have taken a toll on their opportunity to enjoy the prosperous life that I have been given in this great country. I want to make sure that I give my children the tools they need to survive and thrive in the future. It is my calling in life, and I take it seriously. But along with my seriousness, I cannot help but have a light heart and a sense of hope that our country can see the error of our ways and change course and make it right! And as long as we can find the joy in our lives, learn to laugh out loud and strive each day to appreciate the blessing of all that surrounds us – we’ll be just fine~
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say hello, and THANK YOU for visiting my website and blog. I appreciate your time and look forward to your comments, tips and cyber-friendship!
